Josue P. Simao began his watch making training at a very young age in Portugal.
As a tradition in a family of watchmakers his first steps in watch repair were guided by his family.
In 1976 moved to Chene-Bourg, Genève, in Switzerland, looking for a job as a watchmaker.
He continued his studies in horology and attended a course in WOSTEP in Neuchatel and returned to Portugal in 1978.
In 1979 he came to the United States where he worked for various companies before striking out on his own,
notably as a restorer of antique pieces and Grandfather Clocks.
The next step was opening his first Jewelry store, Simon Jewelers on Wilson Avenue in Newark, NJ.
Assisted by his sons J. P. Simao expanded to Kenilworth New Jersey in 1996, buying an already established store that carried Howard Miller grandfather clocks.
With the launching of their website JS Kenilworth is looking to expand its services to the entire New York Metropolitan Area,
offering their services to Jewelers and direct Customers.
